OUR PRACTICE AREAS
While more than ninety-five percent of divorce cases are ultimately “settled” without the need to go before a judge on a contested trial basis, there are times and cases when both parties “cannot agree to agree” on the terms of their divorce and must formally “try” their case and its issues before the court. The ultimate decision to go to trial is usually “a last resort decision.” If we are honest with ourselves the truth is, everybody loses in divorce cases, nobody wins in most instances. The staff at the Advocate Law Center will aggressively fight to ensure their client’s rights are protected that decisions are arrived at based on the facts and evidence combined with effective and persuasive legal arguments.
Whether you are contemplating a divorce, need experienced legal guidance through the divorce process, or are experiencing "post- divorce decree" issues, you can be confident in knowing Advocate Law Center, will vigorously represent you and give your case the focus needed to arrive at a positive outcome.

Facing criminal charges in the New Mexico criminal justice system is very serious. New Mexico has a reputation for being intolerant of people who find themselves caught up in the court system. Because of this it is extremely important that you have an aggressive and experienced legal team to defend your rights. In New Mexico there are two types of criminal charges: Felony charges are crimes that carry significant sentences and the real possibility of having to serve jail time, pay large fines, and the loss of some constitutional rights. Felony convictions may follow a person for life after the case is complete. Therefore, it is important to take felony charges seriously. Felonies involve dangerous weapons, infliction of serious injury or death, high amounts of property damage, or possession of certain types of drugs, etc.
Misdemeanor charges are less severe than felonies. However, they can also have serious effects on an individual’s life. On top of a possible six months in the county jail, fines, fees, and probation requirements, a person could face problems passing background checks for new jobs, or keeping firearms while the probation period is in effect.
